A Message from our R.W.M. Bro. John Crawford (Snr) RWM/DSM.

January 2026 –
Brethren, as I begin my year as RWM I would like to take this opportunity to thank our backroom staff for all the work that they carry out throughout the year, mostly behind the scenes, on behalf of our Lodge.
Also a big thank you to our Office Bearers who without their support our Lodge would be in trouble.
Can I ask that in the coming months each member tries to encourage a member who has not been attending recently, to come back and give much needed support to their Mother Lodge.
Thanks again for allowing me to occupy The Chair for another year.
Bro. John Crawford (Snr) R.W.M. / D.S.M.
Centenary Book

A quality bound hardback book fully detailing the 100 Year history of Lodge Hopetoun St. John.
A total of 357 pages forming an encyclopaedia of facts, information and humour, as well as lots of lots of photographs.
A good read and a great reference book.

Mural
In 1964, just after occupying our new premises in Winchburgh, Bro. J. Thompson, a member of Lodge Torphichen Kilwinning, No. 13, hand painted a very fine mural on the north wall of the Temple – it measured approximately 16ft x 6ft.
Sadly, one of the things that we did not do before we vacated the premises in Winchburgh, at the end of 2005, was to have professional photographs taken of the mural. Unfortunately by the time we got round to trying to rectify this omission the new owners had painted the walls.
Several years later we did manage to obtain a small resolution coloured photograph that someone had taken when visiting our lodge. The photograph was recently passed to Bro. Stewart McLaren, owner of McLaren Signs Ltd (Alloa) and we are delighted to have recently taken delivery of a new mobile mural measuring approximately 8ft x 3ft. The new mobile mural has been on display at our Regular Meetings from September 2018, and you can view a photograph of the Mural in the ‘Photograph’ section of this website.
Thanks to the efforts of Bro. Chris A. Blyth, the Mural is now in a permanent location directly above the double doors on the west wall of the Lodge. A suitable blind has been fitted to protect the Mural when the Lodge is not at work.
A big thank you to Bro. Stewart McLaren for all his work and to Bro. Chris for his contribution.
